International Holocaust Memorial day

Dear Friends,
I hope everyone is back and wanted to wish everyone a happy and healthy new year. On January 27th, 2011 , the world will remember the Holocaust as the international memorial day which was declared at the United Nations. As we do every year we are starting our yearly unit. I have written to the Holocaust Museum in Houston, Texas who is trying to collect butterflies for the one and half million children who perished in the Holocaust. The kids and I will be learning about the butterfly project as well as about my Mom, may God rest her soul Sonia Frenkel who as a Holocaust survivor and believed in the good of children and believed in education in creating a more tolerant and good individual.

There is no deadline here as it is a yearly unit and we thank anyone who takes part in our unit warmly.
We are also continuing our peace project as a yearly unit. It is truly lovely and please share with your students.
