The ESL-Library's tribute to the brave Chilean miners is a great opportunity to ask our children what are the most important things in life, in their eyes. Actually, if each one of us will ask himself this question we'll have a better world, and Marsha's students from Ein-Ganim, Petach Tikva, Israel, or Louise's students from Burlington, Ontario, Canada, or Jan Park's students from Auckland, New Zealand – they all share about the same dreams and ideas. It naturally depends on our background, our social state, our country, etc.
If I was caught in a mine for a month or two without the ability to get out, my wish list would have been quite modest and simple. But even though, everyone has his/her preferences and scale of importance. We cannot argue about air, water and food, but not being alone is the next issue I'd put in my list and if this wish will come true then I'll nourish it enable us to live together, to understand each other, to love and care.
It seems that the brave Chilean miners have all those deep qualities which enabled them to survive. I salute you brothers.
